Hop in to help out Portland’s Coast Guard
THE Portland Easter Saturday Fair Egg-stravagant Easter raffle is underway with baskets popping up in various shops and industry locations around town during the past week.
This year’s beneficiary is Coast Guard Portland and organisers are now calling on the public to help Coast Guard Portland by donating an Easter egg or chocolates at one of the participating “basket hosting” businesses.
You will find these special baskets at: Portland Observer, Intimate Apparell, Squidleydids For Kids, Café Lazat, Bendigo Bank Portland, RSPCA Op Shop, South West TAFE, Admellas Fruit and Veg, Goodman Lawyers, and the Port of Portland.
As well as the usual collection of baskets of Easter eggs, this year’s raffle includes a number of goods donated by local businesses.
All proceeds of the raffle will go to Coast Guard Portland.
The raffle will be drawn at the end of the fair, on Saturday, April 20.
Tickets are on sale now – Coast Guard members will be selling tickets at a number of locations in the coming weeks, including Daly’s IGA Portland on Thursday March 14, and at Woolworths Portland on Sunday March 17.
Coast Guard Portland is a voluntary organisation committed to creating a safer and more resilient boating community.
Funds raised locally help with training new volunteers and a range of equipment to assist the smooth operation of rescue operations.
