Junior footballers ready for interleague
THE best and brightest members of the Portland Junior Football Association and ready and raring to go ahead of the 2019 Western District Junior Carnival on Sunday.
Spread out across three age groups, south west Victoria’s talented young footballers will pour into Hamilton’s Pedrina Park complex to face off.
Representative teams from Portland, Hamilton, Hampden, Warrnambool and Mininera will compete in three age groups – under-16s, under-14s and under-12s.
Portland’s under-16 representative team will be coached by Daniel Jackson, while Portland’s under-14 team will be co-coached by Jeremy Reynolds and Josh Edwards.
One of Portland’s under-12 sides will be coached by Justin Impey, and the other by the combination of Paul Lane and Lee Kelly.
Portland Junior Football Association president Lee Kelly said the range of benefits for players getting involved in representative football was immense.
