Food for thought – local projects get a boost
THREE Glenelg Shire projects focusing on food have been beneficiaries of $6000 of South West Community Fund grants.
The Narrawong Food Collective received $3000, Portland Community Meal Share $2000 and Heywood Consolidated School $1000 at a function in Warrnambool last Wednesday night.
Narrawong Food Collective will put its grant towards the landscaping parts of a community garden project at the Narrawong Post Office.
Collective member Alana Jeffries, who runs it along with Chloe Juul and Robyn Carter, said the garden would extend the existing fresh produce sharing program run by the collective outside the post office.
