Tale of two different halves for Tigers
A SLUGGISH opening half cost Portland any chance of its second win of the Hampden Football League season, comfortably defeated by Camperdown at Leura Oval on Saturday.
The Tigers entered the eighth round of the home and away with elevated confidence after recording their first win of the season against Terang-Mortlake the round prior.
Portland’s 170-kilometre journey to Camperdown is the longest road trip in the Hampden league and unfortunately it hasn’t been a rewarding one, with the Tigers having not won there in seven attempts since joining the competition.
In Saturday’s match Camperdown led by 76 points by half time, before recording a 20.12 (132) to 11.5 (71) victory.
