Tiger cubs pull off biggest win of the season yet
PORTLAND’S quest for the Hampden Football League’s under-18.5 premiership took another huge step forward on Saturday with a victory against Camperdown at Leura Oval.
Heading into the round eight match Camperdown had lost just a single match all season, cemented firmly into the top three with ladder leaders North Warrnambool and South Warrnambool.
Despite a slow first half, Portland managed to overcome the Magpies in a high-flying second half and record a 9.7 (61) to 8.5 (51) victory.
Camperdown and Portland and are now locked side-by-side on the ladder in third and fourth respectively with six wins and two losses each and both boasting a percentage above 200.
