West and Heywood to run their own Big Freeze
A NUMBER of local football and netball clubs have jumped on board this year to support the FightMND round to raise funds to fight Motor Neuron Disease.
The FightMND initiative began in 2014 and has since raise $28 million to go towards research to find a cure for Motor Neuron Disease.
The West Portland Junior Football Club, in conjunction with the Heywood Football Club, have organised a Big Freeze event during their clash at Alexandra Park on Sunday.
The under-12 game will begin at 9.30am followed by the under-14 match at 10.30am to make time for their big MND Freeze at noon.
Nominated local identities have agreed to take part in a ‘feel the freeze’ initiative with locals encouraged to watch the fun.
