Williams treads the boards of theatre and basketball
TOMORROW night, Corey Williams makes his debut as a full-length theatre director, when the Portland CEMA Theatre Group’s latest play Between These Lines opens at the Portland Arts Centre.
Despite only moving to Portland from Dubbo in 2015, Mr Williams has rapidly added to his résumé, working and volunteering in local tourism, sporting and theatrical organisations.
The 24-year-old thespian, coach, umpire and volunteer said growing up, he had to find ways to get his drama fix.
“I was home schooled, so I used to sneak into my friends’ classes at a nearby school from time to time,” Mr Williams said.
“Eventually the teacher just let me in.
“When I was older, I worked at the Old Dubbo Gaol (tourist attraction) for three years; every day I would pretend to be a prisoner or guard.
“Each day was different.”
