Rebels planning on making the most of final month
THE 2019 NAB League home and away season is in its final four rounds and outside of finals contention, Greater Western Victoria are aiming to finish the season on a high.
After 13 completed rounds, the Rebels sit in 14th spot with three wins and eight losses.
Portland’s Connor Giddings has been a semi-regular feature for the Rebels, playing in five matches in his second season at the club.
When he hasn’t been with the Rebels, the 18-year-old has lined up with Portland in the Hampden Football League, playing with the Tigers on four occasions as a versatile utility.
Giddings is joined on the list this season by fellow Portlander Toby Jennings, who made his debut in round 11 against the Western Jets.
In a thrilling seven-point win in Ballarat, the match was one of two NAB League Future Rounds for the season, in which sides are required to field a specific combination of top and bottom age players.
It’s been an exciting season for 17-year-old Jennings who has made his Hampden Football League senior debut in a round six battle between Portland Cobden.
