South West football heating up with five rounds to go
THE South West District Football League returns tomorrow after the bye with the competition heating up with just five rounds to go before finals.
Seven of the eight teams still have a chance to make finals with Westerns positioned as dominant favourites heading into the crucial part of the season.
Coleraine’s finals chances are in jeopardy, sitting in sixth position on the ladder and a run of tough match ups in the last five rounds.
The Maroons will face Heywood tomorrow in a bid to keep their finals dreams alive after a tough loss in round 11 against Westerns.
Heywood dominated the last time these two sides met in round five with a 16.10 (106) to 9.3 (57) win.
The Lions have had an up and down season recording seven wins from 11 games.
After picking up some strong midfield additions during the year Heywood will be looking for a strong run heading into finals.
It will be a heated midfield contest with Coleraine’s Kedar Rowland and Tyson Hogan in strong form while Heywood’s Will Lovett and Dakin Morris have been dominating in their last few matches.
