Trees, cows on roads, lines down in wild weather
HEAVY rain and strong winds kept emergency services busy with a variety of jobs from Wednesday afternoon to yesterday morning, however no injuries to any people were reported.
Most local incidents were reported in the Heywood region, beginning with some roof damage to the Heywood Early Learning Centre that caused water to enter the building.
SES Heywood Unit Controller SES Charlie Debono said they were only able to cover the roof very temporarily as a plumber was required at the scene.
Between 2.30pm and 10.30pm, 10 of the unit’s volunteers, including up to eight new recruits, also attended eight reports of trees over roads.
