Finals-focused Magpies too good
PORTLAND’S leading netball side has played at Hanlon Park for the final time in 2019, taking on a ravenous Camperdown on Saturday in the 17th round of the Hampden Netball League season.
Camperdown headed into the weekend’s clash sitting in fifth spot on the ladder and looking vulnerable to a challenging Terang-Mortlake in sixth.
As a result, the Magpies set themselves the lofty goal of not only recording a win against the Tigers, but also posting 70 goals for a big percentage boost, and they came close – defeated Portland 69-32.
As a result of the win, Camperdown’s place in the finals is guaranteed – holding fifth spot with a two-game break over the Bloods.
