Local junior league considering an appeal against AFL final report
ON Friday, AFL Western District released the final version of the South West Junior Review, the report recommending a merger between junior football competitions in Portland and Hamilton.
The associated stakeholders were then given a deadline of seven days to submit an appeal to the recommendations within the report, an avenue which the Portland Junior Football Association will debate tonight at a league meeting.
On May 27, the AFL Western District Commission announced that it was producing a review into the future of junior football within the south west Victoria region and in July released a draft report detailing 26 key recommendations.
After collating feedback from stakeholders over the past month, AFL Western District has now released a final report, primarily expanding upon the points initially made in the draft report.
