Two on the trot for improving Tigers
PORTLAND’S inspired finish to an otherwise frustrating Hampden Football League season continued on Saturday with an outstanding victory over Camperdown.
Portland, entering the contest fresh from an exhaustive victory against Terang-Mortlake last round, lit up Hanlon Park with a second straight come from behind victory off the back of a huge third term.
The 15.13 (103) to 10.7 (67) win takes the Tigers up to eighth place on the ladder with a round to play.
Camperdown managed to push ahead early with a three-goal first quarter and set up an improved advantage right before half time with a goal after the siren.
After heading into the main break trailing by 14 points, the Tigers emerged a renewed force in the third quarter, hammering Camperdown across every line on the ground and booting eight goals to one to completely swing the momentum and result of the match.
