Marley takes home A grade best and fairest
IT was a Westerns dominated affair at this year’s South West District Netball League best and fairest vote count on Sunday with Danielle Marley winning the top honours in A grade, just one vote ahead of teammate Hannah Bunney.
The count went down to the wire with the winner undecided until round 16 when Marley secured two votes in the final game to send her tally four votes in front before Bunney (also known as Hannah Frew) earned the three votes.
Marley finished with 25 votes and Bunney 24.
The difference between third and fifth was separated by just three votes with Cavendish’s Sarah Langley finishing behind Bunney on 19 votes followed by Tyrendarra’s Rani Kane on 17 votes and Rebecca Vankalken in fifth with 16 votes.
The midcourt from this year’s competition dominated the count with Marley, Langley and Vankalken all playing key roles in centre for their sides.
