Seven times the charm for Dartmoor in Tidy Towns award
DARTMOOR has excelled itself even by its own high standards in this year’s Tidy Towns awards, earning seven nominations as it bids to finally break through and land the top prize.
The town has also maintained a 33-year streak by being named a state finalist every year since first entering the Keep Victoria Beautiful event in 1986.
But while it has won several category awards, the top prize, the Tidy Town of the Year, has proved elusive.
Progress Association president Wendy Dowling said she was delighted with the nominations.
“It’s just wonderful,” she said.
“Especially with the progress in the town, the shop, the mill site and the feedlot, everything’s contributing.”
