Friday is leadership program deadline
ASPIRING leaders from the Glenelg Shire are encouraged to apply for the highly-valued 2020 Leadership Great South Coast program.
The innovative program is seeking new and emerging leaders from within the business, government, and community sectors to join its annual program, which focuses on expanding decision making ability and ethical decision making to grow our region.
This year 18 leaders from across the Great South Coast are taking part, including Portland’s Nikki Edwards and Ben Fraser, as well as Narrawong’s Jason Eats and Amy Silvester.
“My LGSC highlight, aside from the wonderful friendships and new networks I’ve devolved, would be the Building an Inclusive Community program day facilitated by Alma Besserin,” Mrs Edwards said.
“Alma spoke about not being too quick to judge and encouraged us to take the time to get to know people, learning from their story, culture and beliefs.
“Diversity in a workplace brings together new knowledge, strengthens skills and improved sense of community.
“I have been able to integrate these new skills in my workplace and in the groups that I volunteer with.”
Applications for the 2020 program are open until Friday.
