Fun-filled Friday fair
DARK clouds and persistent showers could not dampen the spirits of the Portland Primary School community following a hugely successful twilight market on Friday night.
School principal Steph Carter said bad weather did not impact on the market’s success.
“We were a bit concerned the weather would scare people off, but overall the night was hugely successful,” Mrs Carter said.
“It was great to see a whole range of people from across the community.
“We sold out of food because lots of people came along for dinner and I know the kids’ activities were very popular.
“It was great to showcase many local musicians across the night too.”
Funds raised from the event will help rejuvenate an outdoor area that was created after the school’s old toilet block was demolished.
“We hope to create a grassed space with some outdoor furniture for kids to use during recess and class time.”
