Accommodation feeling the pinch
SOUTHERN Grampians accommodation providers are feeling the pinch after Melbourne went back into lockdown this week, with many seeing mass cancelations.
Hamilton Townhouse Motel owner, Andrea Paine said when the State Government announced the measures to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday, all her July bookings cancelled.
“We’re essentially back to square one, like we were when the restrictions first came in March,” she said.
“When the announcement was made, straight away all my July bookings cancelled – they were mostly workers from Melbourne, and their employers didn’t want them to travel outside of the city.”
